ALBERTA CROSS : The Thief & The Heartbreaker

Who would have thought that the land of britpop could harvest the best vintage of americana since...Neil Young and The Crazy Horse?
Swede Peter Ericson Stakee and his bandmate Terry Wolfers, an east Londoner, indeed composed their debut EP in the British capital prior to settling down on the New Continent, in Brooklyn, headquarters of the cream of the crop.
If you have never travelled across untamed America, The Thief & The Heartbreaker will invite you to a memorable road trip all along route 66 , a journey during which Ericson Stakee will unburden his soul and tell you all about his heartache (with no mawkishness whatsoever), his bedazzling singing being a pure nectar of sweet melancholy that will quickly become your companion in "misfortune".
Alberta Cross's magic lies in its bitter-sweet character, a disenchanted voice mingled with lush guitar layers and bright vocal harmonies, timeless and genuine stardust that instantly turns into gold.
While awaiting these troubadours' debut album, these seven delightful songs will lay hold of your spirits and if you are lucky enough to see them live, they will shoot more arrows right through your heart.

The Thief & The Heartbreaker was released on Ark Recordings on April, 2nd 2007 and was re-released on October, 14th 2008.
