SINGAPORE SLING : Never Forever

« Love me till you’re insane ! »

Albert Camus once said : “Truly fertile Music, the only kind that will move us, that we shall truly appreciate, will be a Music conducive to Dream, which banishes all reason and analysis. One must not wish first to understand and then to feel. Art does not tolerate Reason.”

Singapore Sling substantiates this statement as it created a self inflicted spell, a luscious mind expanding nectar and one revels in drinking the cup down to the last drop, irrationally.

Starting from a feeling of void, drinking the evil potion is like getting to the core of reptilia and primal instincts…

Never Forever may not be as stark and cavernous as the previous records endowed with abrasive guitars but it comes out as more sinuous and even more introspective and hits the nail right on the head with its pungent snapshots of human nature. Human beings, weirdos who excel at hurting themselves in many ways…

The supreme “Tunnel Vision” gets the atmosphere to a whole new level with its rotating motto and its hallucinatory tornado of rhythmics. Guitars flare up magnificently as in a lecture on black magic, with a second part echoed in Poison Ape. It is thus an utterly cinematic and thrilling piece of music with a climax beat that gives you a major adrenaline rush.

Overall this new album feels like a remarkably eventful walk in an English maze at night while being under the influence, with Singapore Sling potion that confers visions and epiphanies.

The title track is the ultimate statement in style on this record, so intoxicating that it gets stuck in your head for days, in a daze. This is your last warning and eerie spirits bluster, you are doomed and a prisoner of the Singapore Sling hypnotists for ever and ever.

Sickeningly good and spooky… The road to hell is paved with good intentions!

Never Forever was released through Outlier Records on May, 13th.
