Singapore Sling substantiates this statement as it created a self inflicted spell, a luscious mind expanding nectar and one revels in drinking the cup down to the last drop, irrationally.

Starting from a feeling of void, drinking the evil potion is like getting to the core of reptilia and primal instincts…

Never Forever may not be as stark and cavernous as the previous records endowed with abrasive guitars but it comes out as more sinuous and even more introspective and hits the nail right on the head with its pungent snapshots of human nature. Human beings, weirdos who excel at hurting themselves in many ways…

The supreme “Tunnel Vision” gets the atmosphere to a whole new level with its rotating motto and its hallucinatory tornado of rhythmics. Guitars flare up magnificently as in a lecture on black magic, with a second part echoed in Poison Ape. It is thus an utterly cinematic and thrilling piece of music with a climax beat that gives you a major adrenaline rush.

Overall this new album feels like a remarkably eventful walk in an English maze at night while being under the influence, with Singapore Sling potion that confers visions and epiphanies.

The title track is the ultimate statement in style on this record, so intoxicating that it gets stuck in your head for days, in a daze. This is your last warning and eerie spirits bluster, you are doomed and a prisoner of the Singapore Sling hypnotists for ever and ever.

Sickeningly good and spooky… The road to hell is paved with good intentions!

SINGAPORE SLING : Must Be Destroyed

The princes of darkness are back after a memorable trip in the heart of doom and sin. Elegantly venomous, Singapore Sling always knows how to paint the daytime black and make the nighttime your closest friend with its lust infused spell.

Must Be Destroyed comes across as somewhat less extreme than the previous record Perversity, Desperation and Death but remains nonetheless astounding in its effect and visuals and gets even more sensual and mysterious. “Noth” is a musical and mental treasure that will hold your breath.

Each track is once again to be heard as a chapter in the history of the band, as a piece of storytelling with psychotic reactions stemming from an ever inspirational theme which is decay.

Surprisingly uplifting, “Summer Times” nails it with is multiple shimmers of onyx, a black diamond tune that turns your usual rainbow into an engrossing starry night. Soundgasmic!

“You Can Never Change Your Heart” is to be remembered as the most up-tempo and electronica friendly The Icelanders have ever composed, an energetic alternative to introspection and brooding.

“Hope” ironically adds a touch of anxiety. What’s bred in the bone will come out in the flesh…

“One More Trip” crystallizes the essence of the Reykjavik band. Edgy and ominous, it sets your soul and senses on fire with its intoxicating and haunting beat. It is the final cut to the tales of drone’n’ black and their hypnotic and one of a kind atmosphere. Henrik sounds as though he was singing from beyond the grave.

Singapore Sling Must Be ADORED, it can be crowned as the most stylish offspring of the genius Jesus & Mary Chain and therefore as a band that gives darkness its mark of prestige.

SINGAPORE SLING : Perversity, Desperation and Death

Perversity, Desperation and Death… could one get more ominous ?
The Reykjavik-based sextet pursues its doomed adventures in the land of chaos with this fourth poisonous record, following up on curse, destroyed life and blood.
Pernicious and intoxicating, Singapore Sling get darker than ever and keep on following in the footsteps of their mentors The Jesus and Mary Chain with razor-sharp riffs, complemented by Henrik Björnsson’s arousing vocals.

One might find the Icelanders’ sound too linear at first but if you pay attention and let their "howl" enrapture you, you will notice that each tune is relevant and well-thought of as part of a coherent story revolving around lust and death, the cornerstones of rock’n’roll.
The band’s sexy and deadly charm bears a peculiar visual connotation, the mental picture of lost highways and rotten cities.
Take a ride with the “Godman”, you will wallow deep into hell, with all sorts of torture.
“Song For The Spirit”, a modern and venomous Mary Chain’s “Sidewalking”, is indeed filled with the sound of the devil, with such exhilarating guitars that the latter will set your senses on fire.
As glowing as "Song For The Spirit" is, "Martian Arts" is utterly cold, cynical and ill-fated, providing the dehumanized feel of an all sinful world, scorched to the soul and subject to constant drug and alcohol abuse.
This all comes down to man’s fragile condition and his loneliness. How self-loathing to hear Björnsson sing: “I’d die to be alone!” in “Last Man On Earth”!

Epic and beautifully twisted, the Icelandic rock'n'rollers deliver eleven striking shades of black, just get lost in the fuzz'n'drone darkness and you will catch more reflections everytime you load those demonic guns.
